Hey all.
It's Summer. Usually, I do a Summer dev update, however, after Part 1 released, I said I would stop doing seasonal updates. Anyway, what a loser for saying that.
Let's start with...
1.2.0
1.2.0 is super finished, and it has been for awhile now. The update is still scheduled for July 31st. The presentation on this update will be on July 27th, 2026. The premiere is already on Youtube, get ready to watch it!
When I had someone test the update, they said that Savior was starting to "get crazy" and the game is "very red" at this moment. I think this accurately reflects what Savior is and where it is heading. It's by no means a dark story, but it opens the door to having fun with something a bit more light, with maybe a darker story later down the line.
Update 1.3.0
The second last update is in development. Wow that is even crazy to just type. After roughly two and a half years, I can really see how the game is coming together. It's great. As of now, all the mechanical blocks for the story have been placed, and I've begun proper work on the city. It's the craziest chapter of the story yet, and it feels very heavy, as the game begins to clue up.
This update is taking a bit longer to develop because the rooms are huge. We're likely to see many rooms interconnected to make a larger area for the first time since the Island. The city is big, and it needs to feel that way. I'm hoping to have the city itself finished within the next couple of weeks, around July 10th. Then the "minor" content updates. This time around though, there is actually quite a bit of time that needs to go into these, so it may take a bit longer.
This area also needs more music tracks. I didn't realize the scope when I was working on this originally, so that's currently my life. As well, the main theme for this area doesn't really fit into the vibe, so I may have to cut it. We'll see though, maybe it can be used elsewhere, but I'm just not a fan.
Anyway, here's something I quickly cobbled together for one of the areas. There's a couple of things I sampled, and I lent some vocals to the track as well, though as with everything my voice is in, it is practically unrecognizable.
Update 2.0.0
I've started light progress on this update. It will be similar in scope to the current update, but much more... well, anyway.
Linux and Mac
A Linux port is on the way. Mac is still taking quite a bit of time, but it's getting really close now too. I suspect it won't be much longer before more players can play.
Closing Remarks
Well, this is basically it now. It's not unrealistic to suggest the game will be finished before November. I have no intention on sitting with 2.0.0, once it's finished, that update will roll out fast.
Savior's story is satisfactory. I think I did good with it, and with it being the protagonist's story, I think it helps keep everything in an interesting light. I think everyone will enjoy it. While there will be many questions, the game's story is very pleasant.
